Autumn Naked Cakes

I hope y'all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. I am ashamed to tell you this, but
I didn't take one picture of anything I made, besides a few phone snapshots. Terrible, right? Let me tell ya though, it was a crazy couple days in the kitchen--and I was only making the desserts and some of the sides.

I do, however, have some beautiful fall cakes to share with you.
Let's talk about the naked cake.
They're beautiful (did I already say that?), they're simple, and they are all the rage!

This first one I did back in October. It was just a simple, one layer chocolate cake with stacked pumpkins on top.

So festive and fun for a small gathering. This cake size feeds eight happy people.

Gold sprinkles are the best sprinkles!

The second I did just last weekend.

I love the contrast of these two naked cakes showing just how much variety you can get with them.

That is a fuyu persimmon, NOT a tomato...
(for the couple of people that thought that. :-/ )
...and those are cranberries, blackberries, cinnamon sticks, and olive branches.
(Just so we are clear that there is no vegetables on this cake. Ha.)
