A Sweet Disney Day

Our Jolly Holiday Haul from left to right: sweet potato hand pie, pumpkin muffin, Matterhorn macaroon, and a black forest cherry cupcake (not pictured: double chocolate chip muffin)!!
The bakery here is just pure Disney magic! We tried all seasonal items, minus the Matterhorn macaroon and double chocolate chip muffin.

Star Tours
Had to get the classic picture of my Matterhorn macaroon in front of the Matterhorn.
So, the spoiled little cookie got to come with us.

Hi, Cutie!!

Lunch was at Hungry Bear Restaurant, since we'd read that they redid the menu and wanted to try it.
It was okay!! I wouldn't consider it to be a magical experience though. Definitely not a MUST EAT!

Watermelon Lemonade Freeze (ignore the thumb nail, thanks)

Best part: the watermelon glitter sprinkles!

A chili burger not worth mentioning, and not because of the sweet theme either.
It's just really not worth mentioning! If you want a burger, go to In-N-Out.

Strawberry Rose Twist
Located at the stand right outside the Royal Theatre are these beauties! They also serve rose lemonade that is to die for (if you're into that sort of thing). I kind of obsessed over edible flowers for a solid year of my life, so the rose in it just makes me WAY too happy.

Plaza Inn
So many happy evenings spent here with a warm bowl of pasta. *sigh*

Phantom of the Opera Cupcakes Take Two

OK, let's be honest here, I haven't stopped obsessing over Phantom of the Opera since last October. So when The Great American Melodrama announced it's production of The Phantom of the Melodrama, well, it was bound to happen.

Plus, it just so happened to be the day before my cousin's birthday!
...Let the cupcake obsession continue!!!!

(Are you feeling a sense of deja vu here?)

Our after show

Happy Birthday, Caitlyn, and many more!

Lambert the Lamb

Easter is my second favorite holiday. Everyone knows the end of a long winter should be celebrated with chocolate, and I simply love the fresh start of spring.

I always find different culture's traditions quite heartwarming, and there are plenty of traditions surrounding this holiday--one of which is the lamb cake!

The history of the lamb cake is somewhat unclear--starting in Germany--it soon became a tradition in Poland, Austria, Italy, and France. Original lamb cake molds were made out of cast iron, but the current molds by Nordicware are aluminum, so you must tie them together with baking twine to keep the mold together while baking.

It gained popularity in America around the 50's and quickly became an American Easter tradition as well. One lamb cake mold even made it to the National Museum of American History! Though the lamb cakes popularity has dwindled, there are still many families that have kept this tradition alive.

Meet Lambert the lamb! My very own lamb cake! It was just a tad depressing having to sacrifice him, but I think I'll resurrect him for next Easter and start my very own Easter tradition.

Phantom of the Opera Cupcakes

Last weekend, a few of us went to see Phantom of the Opera while it was in Fresno.
I was more than thrilled, as seeing this Broadway show has definitely been something on the bucket list. Let me just stop and say that if it isn't on your bucket list it should be. It was so incredible!! Officially planning a trip to New York. HA.

Plus, it just so happened to come around the time of a dear friend's birthday.
So we did not miss the opportunity to turn it into a celebration!
We kind of figured that we would be obsessing over it afterwards, and what better way to obsess then with cupcakes, Right?!

Happy Day, Shalay!
Here is to the best year yet.

Love,

Drip Cake

Welcome back blog world!
So, I graduated (YAY!) and then had the craziest and best summer ever!!
Now the whirlwind of summer is finally slowing down, and I am gonna attempt to get back on the blogging bandwagon.

Pictured is a fun drip cake I did last week topped with macarons.
Oh, and then there is me! We decided to kill two birds with one stone by getting profile pictures and a blog post all at once.
